Airbnb Arrival Checklist

Clear, calm steps to help guests arrive easily and feel welcome.  You don’t need to do everything on this list.
Even a few small changes can make a noticeable difference.

There is nothing worse than a call from a guest who can't find your front door.

1. Arrival & Wayfinding

☐ The property is easy to identify on arrival
☐ House number or name is clearly visible from the street or driveway
☐ Signage or markers are visible in low light or at night
☐ Listing includes a clear arrival cue
  (“You’ll know you’re in the right place when you see…”)
☐ Arrival instructions match what guests see on site

2. First Reassurance

☐ A light is left on for late arrivals
☐ Entry instructions are short and easy to follow
☐ Keys or lockbox are easy to locate and use
☐ The entry area is clear and ready (no clutter or maintenance tasks)
☐ Guests see a short welcome message on arrival

3. The First Five Minutes

☐ Guests know where to put bags
☐ Guests can easily find light switches
☐ Guests know where to make a cup of tea or coffee
☐ Important information is easy to locate
☐ Nothing essential requires searching or messaging the host

4. Tone & Ease

☐ House guidance uses friendly, simple language
☐ Instructions are calm and not overwhelming
☐ House rules are clear but not front-loaded
☐ The space feels prepared rather than rushed

5. Identity & Consistency

☐ The place has a clear name or identity
☐ The same name is used across the listing, signage, and house manual
☐ One or two simple design elements are repeated
  (colour, material, symbol, local reference)
☐ The arrival experience feels intentional and cohesive

6. Thoughtful Touches

☐ At least one personal or tactile detail is present
☐ Welcome message can be updated between stays
☐ Items feel chosen, not generic
☐ The welcome reflects the style and location of the place

7. Local Orientation

☐ Guests can easily understand where they are
☐ A simple map, note, or local reference is visible
☐ Seasonal or practical tips are included if useful

8. Departure Moment

☐ A short thank-you message is visible before guests leave
☐ Departure instructions are clear and easy
☐ Guests leave without uncertainty or last-minute stress

Final Check: Walk It Like a Guest

☐ A first-time guest could arrive without calling or messaging
☐ A late arrival would know they’re in the right place
☐ The first thing guests see confirms they’re welcome
☐ The first five minutes feel easy and calm
☐ One or two details would be easy to remember later
☐ The departure feels considered, not abrupt
